Let me intoduce myself

Every so often I do a reading and realize that my new client knows nothing about me and found me by pure chance.  So that's when I do a small blog piece about who I am and how I read.

Actually, to tell how I read,  just browse this blog - which I started in 2009,  but I had already been reading tarot cards for strangers for about 20 years by then.  So it's the job I've had the longest.  But in between I've done more professional things - worked in offices as a recruitment consultant, worked in a modelling agency as a booker,  worked in a dating agency,  then completed my second degree and became a group analytic psychotherapist,  and specialized in addiction.  Always working with people,  always interested in what motivates and sustains us; why we succeed,  where we stumble.  Always reading tarot cards.  But in 2009 my son was in school,  I wanted part time work I could control,  and I dropped all the other gigs and focused solely on tarot.

I've been reading for strangers weekly since then.

When we moved back to Australian I changed my format a little bit.  You see,  the magic for me lies in the shuffling - you have to move the cards,  you have to pick them,  your energy is what makes it work.  So I do readings via zoom,  facetime,  whatsap,  you name it,  but you need to have the cards in your hands.  Most of my regular clients were fine with this,  they bought a deck,  shuffled it in the week preceding our reading,  and I would tell them how to lay them out

We always start with a Celtic Cross - you will lay out 10 cards into this shape.  Then I talk for 7 or so minutes,  I encourage people to record these readings,  it's a lot of information.  Then we talk together and you can usually get 3 or so questions answered on top of the intial reading during the hour.

It's worked very well.  If I haven't read for you in the past,  just buy a deck and we will set up a time.  You read in the privacy of your own home,  I'm seeing you from Australia so usually your evening to my morning.  And you get to see a snap shot of where your energy is now.

I look forward to reading for you,

warmly,

Liat

Should I let someone listen in on my reading?

When I do my readings IRL - in real life - people often bring someone - close friend, sibling, parent, lover, to hear the readings with them or to take turns and listen to each other's readings.

A reading can be a lot of information, and having someone to mull it over with afterwards can be really helpful. And then they also get to see the magic of the cards for each other, as each one gets specific cards that make sense just for them! So if you are considering having a reading with a friend, it can be great to have another pair of ears.

In the time of Covid,  it has happened less, but a recent reading she was at home in her studio apartment,  so her partner being present was unavoidable.  I told them both that they needed at least an hour a day apart,  and they should go for walks separately to give each other some psychic space.  They both agreed that that was a good idea.

I also warn people, readings can be very intimate events so make sure they are someone you want to share your secrets with!  Her reading was all about work,  the relationship was good,  even after the intense togetherness!

Celtic Cross

I've been reading the cards for years now,  and I always start the same way - with a cold reading of the Celtic Cross.   In my skype readings,  I still make you shuffle the cards - that's where the magic lies for me.  So you have to have your own deck - either borrowed from a friend,  or one that you own,  and you shuffle it while we speak and then I direct you how to lay out the cards.

Basically we will build this shape: -

We start with the circle,  with the cross and a circle of cards around it,  and then have the staff grow along side it.

After drawing 10 cards,  I then have the 'cold reading' - where I don't know anything about the situation (or you,  if it's our first reading) and just tell you what the cards tell me. Basically I do all the talking for the first 5 to 7 minutes.  Then you tell me what resonated the most for you,  what needs more unpacking, how accurate you feel the cold reading was.

Then I can answer any questions you may have.  Usually I can do 4-5 questions in an hour reading,  depending on how fast we talk.  Some people power through to seven questions,  some people are satisfied with exploring one.

Usually after the reading I direct you to further explore one card or image,  to keep it around you (as a phone cover page,  by your computer,  in your wallet) to allow the energy of that card to remain around you.

Looking forward to reading for you,

warmly

Liat

Sixth Anniversary!

I've been reading Tarot for more years than I have fingers and toes,  but I only thought about creating this blog in 2009.  I've been writing it for 6 years now!  I started by going through the cards one by one,  describing them individually.  When you first start with Tarot,  you learn the 78 images and how to interpret them. But the cards really come alive when you read how they interact together, like musical notes that become so much more interesting when you play another note along side it.

This February the anniversary of my blog snuck by me in a fog of snow (it was such a cold February,  wasn't it!)  And I just looked and realized I hadn't written my customary anniversary blog. So here it is,  a few weeks later but better late then never at all.   That's one thing life has taught me - not to let the perfect get in the way of the good (and I was such a perfectionist,  I had to learn that lesson several times!)

By Giedra Purlytė-Mažrimienė

I started this blog to show people that I am knowledgeable about Tarot and I keep writing it because my clients tell me that they often turn to it between readings,  to catch up with me and to read what is catching my interest.  I get lots of lovely feedback,  so I'm happy to continue with it. This blog is written with a lot of love and care.  It should answer most of your tarot questions.  If you want to know anything just type in the word in the upper left hand corner (near the B) and there is sure to be a blog piece about it (eg Wands will bring up the entire Wands suite.  If you want to know about a specific card,  type in that card and you'll get information about it.) If you want to know more,  call me and we'll set up a reading!
