Sticking through it, alone

I want to say that I appreciate how difficult and strange this past Covid year has been.  Tough for couples who have to work on top of each other,  or families and the sudden,  relentless closeness.

But it's been especially hard for those living alone - a sort of solitary confinement in comfort,  but with terrible isolation.  I've had a few people say to me that this year has been a kind of a blessing - forcing them to the early retirement they secretly really wanted,  or giving them space with their family that they had lost. But no one single and living alone has said that to me.

And my readings recently have not been about work,  in this strained economy, people seem to be finding jobs with relative ease.  But there have have plenty of readings about relationships,  as meeting new people has become more fraught than ever, and on line romances take on a weird,  unreal bloom.

So if you are finding living alone,  working on zoom,  to be a burden,  I want you to know that others share that burden,  you are not alone there.  And for my US clients,  especially those in NYC,  the coming warmer weather and the expansion of the vaccination program,  has made people feel far more hopeful.  There is an energy up tick and a warm tide of optimism.  So hang in there!  The end is in sight...
