Yelp and filtered reviews

I notice that I’ve had some harsher reviews on Yelp lately.  I don’t object to people voicing their heartfelt opinions, and you can never satisfy everyone, but I have real trouble with Yelp allowing those reviews in and filtering all the good reviews out.  I have 69 reviews filtered away.  If they put all the reviews,  good and bad,  I would be happy to see them all,  but filtering away the good and only leaving the bad?  Not so much!

So every so often I like to pull one out and highlight it, to let you see some of the stuff that Yelp is hiding away.  If you want to read any filtered reviews you go to the bottom of my yelp page and click on the filtered review number, and then type in the code Yelp gives you, and they all come up.

This was written last year by a lovely woman I’ve now seen a few times:
She's so approachable and she's the real deal.
Liat cold read the cards for me and I was really astounded by the accuracy. I even used a pseudo name so that she could not research me prior to our appointment. We didn't speak at all... she started the conversation (which was pretty much one-way while she was reading!) Wow. That's all I could think... She was not vague at all. Details were spoken about that I didn't tell her (or ANYone).
I was not only impressed by her knowledge of the Tarot (yes, I know she *should* be), but her acute insight into the human psyche.
As an academic, I have studied psychology and am familiar with many "tricks of the trade" when it comes to psychic readers because I also studied the Tarot for a couple of years.
Why was I there? Because I have a lot of open issues that I just wanted some guidance on... You are not supposed to read your own cards, and I didn't want to talk to anyone who knew me, because I think their opinions are biased.
Plus, something about Liat completely made me at ease and open to the idea of a reading...I researched her reviews, too.  So I set up an appointment with a generic email address (so I couldn't be traced) and waited anxiously to meet with her.
If you have never been to a psychic before or you came to Yelp to check her reviews - you should just make the appointment and be the judge yourself.
I certainly was not disappointed with my reading and will see her again soon... after putting her advice and cards to the test, I feel as though I have more direction with issues that were once so bothersome.

Yelp Reviews

You know when a lover has done you wrong, and all you can do is complain about it till your friends start to roll their eyes… that’s how I feel about Yelp and how they filter my reviews.  So instead of complaining yet again, I’m going to pull out this beautiful and so sweet review, and share it with you; Yelp filtered it immediately so I doubt anyone got the chance to read it.  You can find it if you go to my Yelp page, and then scroll down to filtered reviews and write up their two weird words (though why they care if a bot wants to read the filtered reviews… ) and then you can see it and others like it.

It's been over a month since my reading with Liat and her words still resonate with me. I'm going through a very difficult time at the moment (as I was then) and so much of what she saw in the cards is happening now. I was fortunate enough to have taken a voice recorder so I often go back and listen to the reading.

She's really a great person to listen to and her positive energy and spirit are so magnetic to the point where you think, "why couldn't she have been a relative of mine. What an amazing person to have in your life."

Overall, my experience was very positive. I went in seeking advice, and that's what she gave. Of course, I didn't get the answers that I wanted and that I was hoping to hear but that's just the way life is and you take it as it is.

I haven't been to any other tarot readers before so I'm not sure how the experience would be with anyone else but I know that she was great.

She really understands the cards! Oh and my reading was definitely accurate!

She can go off on a tangent when she's trying to explain something to you but she means well. I'd definitely go see her again!

She's a phenomenal woman!

My favorite line - why couldn't she have been a relative of mine J

All information is useful…

I have been reading cards for over 25 years, both here and in the UK and in Australia. When I got to the US, I started reading for friends, and then friends of friends, but eventually that group started to wear thin. One day, in late 2009, I looked at the latest Groupon email and thought, maybe I could expand through them…

When I contacted them, their representative was not receptive. "No, we won’t consider you, you’re not professional."
What do you mean I’m not professional? I’ve been doing it for years.
"You’re not on Yelp, you’re not on City Search, we’re not interested."

And she hung up, leaving me feeling very unsettled and rather depressed. It took me a week or so, as I mulled over it, and I came to realize that she had given me really good information. So I looked up Yelp and Citysearch, and, shaking off any anxieties, I got myself listed on both of them.

In a full circle, about 7 months later someone from Groupon rang me - "We’ve seen your amazing reviews on Yelp and Citysearch, would you like to be on Groupon?" Their offer didn’t work out financially for me, but was I very pleased that they had rung!

That’s what I mean when I tell people all information is useful. Even when it is something you don’t expect or want to hear, once you know it, you can use it, and improve your situation.

Mentioned in Yelp's mail out!

Very pleased to be mentioned in Yelp's weekly mail out!

"Once you've met those caloric obligations, best to get that psyche and physique back on track. Zelina M lets Tribeca Tarot Reader sort out her future infatuations: "Even if the reading is tough," it's the loving kind."

Thanks so much to Zelina and thanks to Yelp too!
